What Will Your Kids Bring Home from Summer Camp?
Macaroni necklaces, braided lanyards, maybe a nice suntan and some mosquito bites…all of these are expected when your child comes home from summer camp. You may not be aware that head lice are a big, itchy problem at summer camp… unless you take a few simple steps to prevent them.
- purchase, and show your child how to use, a non-toxic bunk spray. By spraying bedding, pillows and mattresses, you may be able to prevent a head lice infestation.
- remind your child to shower often, just like at home. Replace her normal shampoo with a head lice prevention product. Choose a non-toxic, chemical free organic product that smells good, so your child will enjoy using it.
- Just like during the school year, remind them not to share towels, caps, combs and brushes.
These simple little tips may prevent those unwanted head lice from stowing away with your child.
